Kalahari Cheetah & Cub

A Chalk Pastel by Gordon Howard

Cheetah

When I visited the Kalahari over the Millenium, I had the good fortune to watch three young cheetah drinking at a waterhole along with a large host of thirsty cabbage white butterflies - it was an enchanting combination.

The fastest of the land animals, the cheetah's survival is threatened by a small gene pool and often the cubs do not survive to maturity.
